1. Needs Analysis
To provide you with the exceptionally qualified individual needed to provide you the targeted assistance you really require, our process begins with a needs analysis. This is not an overly exaggerated or protracted process, but at EOD Elite Staffing, we feel like we must really understand what you are looking for in order to provide an individual who can meet those needs. This costs you absolutely nothing except time, and is crucial in making sure we are selecting the right candidates to present to you from our end.
Here are the phases in the process:
During an approximately 30 minute phone conversation or video-conference, a member of our staff will ask you questions about the knowledge and skills you are looking for in a candidate, some of which you will certainly have considered, others you may not. For example:
- Is the position full-time, meaning 8 hours a day, 5 days a week for a given period; part-time, meaning less than 8 hours a day, and less than 5 days a week for a given period; hourly based on an established project timeline or delivery schedule; or as needed?
- When are you expecting to actually need an individual to be available? (E.g., immediately, on a specific date, on contract award, etc.)
- Do you have a years experience in the bomb disposal field requirement, or are knowledge, skills, and abilities more of a driving factor?
- Are there required service affiliation requirements (or desires) for this position, meaning does the candidate need to have experience with a specific branch of the military, or time as a public safety bomb technician?
- What types of products are the candidate expected to deliver? (E.g., information papers, intelligence products, study or test reports, after action reviews, curricula and instructional material, etc.)
- Will the candidate be required to deliver presentations or educate other individuals on technical material, and if so, to what type of audience? (E.g., decision-makers, end-users, conference attendees, co-workers, etc.)
- What work-environment requirements are expected? (E.g., in-office, customer-site, remote, hybrid, set-hours, flex-schedule, etc.)
- Are there any potentially hazardous work conditions anticipated? (E.g., use of explosives, presence of firearms or hazardous materials, proximity to enemy combatants, etc.)
- Are there any certifications or licensing required (or desired) to fill this position? (E.g., Blasters License, PMP, CIPBI, Licensed Private Investigator, etc.)
- Are any specific languages skills other than English critical, or beneficial to the success of this projects?
While this is certainly not a comprehensive list, it is a starting point for preparing for the needs analysis. Don’t worry if questions arise during the initial conversation that you may not have the answers to, because EOD Elite Staffing sees this engagement as the beginning of a relationship, not a one-off event.
2. Candidate Refinement
Once we know the basic requirements for the position, and both you and EOD Elite Staffing agree that any relationship is a good fit, we will provide you with signed non-disclosure and non-compete agreements for both EOD Elite Staffing personnel working with your organization, and any cadre under consideration. If you elect to use your own forms, that is perfectly acceptable, as long as all articles of the original agreements are present.
Once we have agreements signed by both parties, EOD Elite Staffing will send you one last questionnaire, eliciting additional information regarding your organizational culture and philosophy. We do this to ensure that any potential cadre we might send are a good organizational fit, rather than being an unintentional disruptive presence. Once this is accomplished, EOD Elite Staffing will develop a needs statement for your approval, and once approved, provide you with a list of EOD Elite Staffing cadre that meet your stated project needs, their qualifications, and links to their biographies on our website.
3. Candidate Review
Just so you are nor surprised when you receive your customized EOD Elite Staffing cadre list, we want you to know that you might find a couple of things peculiar, or at least different from what is usually provided by job-boards or individual candidates responding directly to an advertised position. First, you will not receive resumes outlining our cadre’s chronological work experience. Instead, you will receive a document with an identifier number for each potential candidate, and a brief description of the training, education, and experience that demonstrates how the candidate’s qualification fulfills your needs. This document will also include information regarding the candidates stated compensation and work-environment related requirements, bearing in mind that together, meaning you and EOD Elite Staffing, have identified what is considered acceptable during the generation of your needs statement.
Also, certain items that you might find on a standard resume have been omitted, such as the candidates name or any information related to ethnicity, race, or gender, unless you asked for a specific gender based on work location (but we will ask you why). We also intentionally omit any images individuals have provided of themselves, because it is EOD Elite Staffing’s sincere belief that a persons qualifications should be of paramount consideration when hiring an individual, not their age, race, gender, or ethnicity.
Each candidate document will also have a link to our SME’s biography on our website. This is provided so you can see additional information about any candidates from your list that you have interest in. Remember, all of the candidates whose names were provided meet your minimum requirements, but some may have additional qualifications that could be of benefit to your program, project, or proposal that you hadn’t considered during the initial needs analysis process. While reviewing this information is not essential, it would most certainly help inform your final selection.
